MENG Analysis was contracted to perform a series of workshops to review, edit and condense a major software corporation’s Puget Sound Design Guidelines. This firm was faced with problems similar to other client design guidelines, especially updating and maintaining, but also, redundancy, lack of clarity, difficulty in locating specific information, misinterpretations by user groups, etc. MENG’s final product deliverables were (1) a new update process, (2) a clear and concise set of guidelines and standards that were approximately one-tenth the volume of the original, and (3) an on-line interface for updating and downloading current guidelines. Based on the success of this process, MENG Analysis was later asked to perform a review of the firm’s audio/visual guidelines.
